Connection The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a fundamental shift in the nature of interactive work, demanding a re-approach to traditional concepts of audience participation, presence, and space. In response to these conditions, this exhibition of seven group works explores what new possibilities there may be for exploring spaces and relationships between online work and physical objects, demonstrating the explorative and experimental attitude towards interaction design that is the hallmark of IDC students. The relationship between online and in-person has another important role in this exhibition; for these self-initiated projects were developed and built during a period where the students were preparing for the shift between isolation and a slow re-introduction to the campus and community that was the center of their creative lives before the pandemic erupted. Their projects are a taste of how both their own practices and the discipline of interaction design itself are evolving with the new state of the world.
